IdeaPanda ("IdeaPanda," "we," "us," or "our") operates the website at getideapanda.com and related services (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Account information. When you create an account using Google or an email "magic link," we collect your email address and, if you sign in with Google and choose to share it, your name and profile image. We use this information to create, secure, and operate your account.
Authentication data. We use Google OAuth and email magic-link sign-in (delivered through our email provider). We receive only the profile information you authorize, and we never receive or store your Google password.
Payment information. Purchases are processed by our third-party payment provider, Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record. We do not collect or store your full payment card number or payment credentials. We receive and store a record of your purchase — such as your email, an order identifier, the product, amount, and status — in order to grant and manage your access.
Usage and content data. We store the ideas you save or shortlist, your in-app preferences, and similar activity needed to provide the Service.
Automatically collected data. Our hosting and infrastructure providers automatically log technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, referring URLs, and timestamps. We use this for security, debugging, fraud and abuse prevention, and to operate the Service.
Cookies. We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to protect your session. Our analytics provider is privacy-focused and does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. See Section 6.

IdeaPanda generates idea reports by aggregating publicly available information from third-party platforms — for example, complaints and discussions on Reddit and other forums, app store reviews, Hacker News, Product Hunt, Y Combinator's public listings, and public review sites. This source data concerns businesses, products, and public discussions; it is not personal information about you. We do not scrape private profiles, gated content, or anything that requires authentication on those platforms.
We use third-party AI providers (including OpenAI) to classify and synthesize the publicly sourced signals described in Section 4 into idea reports, scores, and summaries. We do not transmit your personal account data to AI providers as part of generating these reports. Use of AI providers is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
We use strictly necessary cookies to authenticate you and maintain a secure session — these are required for the Service to function. For analytics we use a privacy-focused, cookieless provider that measures aggregate traffic and does not collect personal information or track you across other sites. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or sell information for behavioral advertising. Where required by law, we honor recognized opt-out preference signals.
We share limited information with vetted service providers solely to operate the Service, under contractual confidentiality and data-protection obligations. These currently include:

We retain your account and purchase records for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, comply with our legal, tax, and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. We may retain certain records (such as transaction logs) for longer where required by law. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it. You may request deletion of your account as described in Section 12, subject to records we are required or permitted to retain.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), security headers, access controls, and signed payment webhooks. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and, to the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim liability for unauthorized access, loss, or disclosure that occurs despite reasonable safeguards or that is beyond our reasonable control.
We and our service providers operate in the United States and may process data in other countries. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States and other jurisdictions that may have different data-protection laws than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers. By using the Service, you consent to these transfers.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information. Residents of the European Economic Area and United Kingdom (under the GDPR) may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, and port their data, and to withdraw consent. California residents (under the CCPA/CPRA) may have rights to know, access, correct, and delete their personal information, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information — note that we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined.

The Service is not directed to, and is not intended for, children under 16 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
The Service and our idea reports may contain links to third-party websites and resources that we do not own or control. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing them any information.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective date" above and post the updated policy on this page; for material changes we may also provide notice by email or within the Service. Your continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
